Glad you’re here 👋🏾

Hi, I’m Sydney 🌀

I’m a creative strategist/producer and writer based in North Carolina, with a background in journalism, political advocacy, and public policy. Over the course of nearly a decade, I’ve brought my creative expertise and deep knowledge of communications and social media strategy to local and statewide political campaigns, national news organizations, progressive issue-based campaigns, and more.

Recently, I transitioned into the philanthropy world, working for a network of foundations, philanthropies, and other organizations interested in impact investing and aligning their investments to create social and environmental change. Previously, I created and led the brand and creative partnerships program at Advocates for Youth, leading the expansion of the organization’s brand through influencer and brand partnerships, experiential online & offline campaigns and activations, and more. At Advocates for Youth, I piloted compelling partnerships with brands like The Body Shop and Trojan Brand Condoms and reached millions of online users through campaigns like National Abortion Storytelling Day and #FreethePill.

And before all of that, I was a journalist covering issues like politics, policy, and a little bit culture (including the Queen herself, Beyoncé). You can find my byline in places like Teen Vogue, USA Today, Texas Monthly, the Texas Tribune, and more.

When I’m not developing comms strategies, you can find me thrifting, learning about herbalism, growing my passion project (pssst: RENEUX STUDIO), or scrolling on TikTok so I can keep my title of “Cool Black Auntie” (and spoiler alert — I’ll always have this title.)

Check out my latest feature in the Wall Street Journal where I talk about the resurgence of Eileen Fisher among younger generations, discovering the brand’s infamous "coastal grandma" linens as a kid, and how now as an adult, Eileen Fisher is a staple in my closet — styled with my own personal flair.🌀
